Director J. Stephen Maunder’s action epic “Shadows in Paradise” — which has been available in France for about a year — is kind of like “The Expendables” for the direct-to-video market. The film is stuffed to overflowing with an abundance of DTV actors, including Tom Sizemore, Armand Assante, and my personal favorite, “Iron Chef America” badass Mark Dacascos.

What can I say about Kicking The Dog the movie? Kicking the dog is classed as an Adult Comedy movie because of nudity throughout the movie. The movie itself is about a group of friends who spend one summer together, partying, drinking and having sex and fun.

The Tree of Life Movie Trailer has premiered. Terrence Malick‘s The Tree of Life (2011) stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, and Kari Matchett. The beige square on the Sundance schedule for today -- "Sneak Preview," 6:15 at the Eccles -- was, over the past few days, filled in with a thousand brushstrokes of rumor and intimation and heard-it-from-a-friend-who-heard-it-from-a-friend whisperings. The first murmuring I heard to make that "Sneak Preview" a must-see was that the presentation was going to be an evening with Steven Soderbergh, a night of clips and conversation -- until that proposition, exciting as it was, was supplanted by another rumor: That the Eccles Sneak was going to be Soderbergh showing The Girlfriend Experience, his new run-and-gun, shot-with-the-4K-Red-digital-camera, adult-actress-in-the-lead-role, largely-improvised drama about the life of a New York escort. The rumors, for once, were true.

Looking back at the Halloween of my youth, I know there was candy I looked forward to seeing in my trick-or-treat bag every year. I’m talking about candy that only showed up at Halloween time, or didn’t taste as sweet the rest of the year when it wasn’t in a convenient trick-or-treat size. Sadly, as an adult, I’ve started to discover that the candy of my memory isn’t actually all that great as all.

Milos is a former adult film star who is down on his luck financially. When he receives a call from his long-time movie actress partner, Layla, he welcomes her call. When it was announced that Paramount Pictures and MTV would be making the latest offering from Johnny Knoxville & Co. available for free download, I was intrigued. It was an interesting way to promote a movie, and I certainly wanted to check it out for my review. Unfortunately, I was caught in the middle of a winter storm and my internet was knocked out all weekend. Lucky for me (and you), I received a copy of Jackass 2.5 in the mail, so I was able to watch it after all.

CBS announced in October 2009 that Legacy Interactive will develop a video game based on the show. The game will require players to examine crime scenes for clues to help solve murder mysteries. The game is scheduled to come out early 2011.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” is a movie based on the best selling books by Jeff Kinney. The movie is about Greg Heffley ( Zachary Gordon) a sixth grader who keeps a journal (not a diary) about his first year in Junior High School. He is not the most popular kid in school, but his desire is to become the most popular kid in school no matter what. After many failed attempts to overcome his nerd and geek status he learns that the best thing is to be yourself and to be loyal to your friends.

Director Kevin “Witchboard” Tenney’s 1988 demonic horror outing “Night of the Demons” isn’t a movie I’m particularly fond of, so the idea of a contemporary remake didn’t ruffle my cinematic feathers whatsoever. The original isn’t a masterpiece by anyone’s definition of the term, though it’s hardly the worst genre effort produced during this decidedly prolific era in horror’s stories history. In fact, I consider the film’s 1994 direct-to-video sequel to be a superior film in every conceivable way. What can I say – I have horrible taste in movies. Feel free to throw rotten vegetables in my general direction.

Bill Dancer and his young companion Curly Sue are the classic homeless folks with hearts of gold. Their scams are aimed not at turning a profit, but at getting enough to eat. When they scam the rich and beautiful Grey Ellison into believing she backed her Mercedes into Bill, theyre only hoping for a free meal. But Grey is touched, and over the objections of her snotty fiance, insist on putting the two up for the night. As they get to know each other, Bill becomes convinced that this is where Curly Sue belongs - in a home, cared for by someone that can give her the advantages that his homeless, nomadic existence lacks. He plans to leave the young girl in the care of Grey and take off.... but Curly Sue has other ideas!

The premise of The King of Fighters shows a secret tournament that is held in some alternate dimension in which fighters from around the world “log in” to via special earpieces. Based off the hit video game, I am sure fans of the video game will be let down by the fact that this film is a total chore to sit through. Sean Faris who is the lead, is a terrible actor. How laughable is it that his character’s name is Kyo Kusanagi and he is a white boy? The story follows him and tells the tale of the tournament. The characters for this series are not only unrealistic but entirely wrong, for example anyone who’s ever seen any of the Fatal Fury series knows that Terry Bogard is not portrayed in the game like he is in this movie.
